Shakib, Rahim flog NZ with record triple ton stand: 1st Test, Day 2 (Wellington)

Allrounder Shakib al Hassan scored a double century and broke the record for the all time highest Bangladesh innings.

Shakib and captain Mushfiqur Rahim added 159 in a 359-run stand. This partnership set a record for any Bangladesh wicket as NZ toiled in the field.

After being dropped on four by Mitchell Santner, Shakib went on to score 217, overataking 206 by his team mate Tamim as the highest ever score by a Bangladesh batsman. His record innings lasted 276 balls, with 31 fours as the visitors ended at 542-7.
