Rohit canes Aussies, India win series 4-1: 5th ODI (Nagpur)

Opening batsman Rohit Sharma smashed 125 to guide India to a convincing seven-wicket win against Australia for a 4-1 series victory.

Rohit posted his 14th ODI century and added a further 99 in the company of skipper Virat Kohli (39). India were able to secure the crushing victory with 43 balls unused to reclaim the No 1 ODI ranking.

Earlier, David Warner's 53 got Australia off to a fast start. But India's spinners and the paceman Jasprit Bumrah played key roles in limiting Australia to 9-242, with only 52 runs coming in the last 10 overs.

India 243 for 3 (Rohit 125, Rahane 61) beat Australia 242 for 9 (Warner 53, Stoinis 46, Axar 3-38) by seven wickets.
