Wagner 7-39 orchestrates Windies rout: 1st Test, Day 1 (Wellington)

Paceman Neil Wagner took his career best figures of 7-39 to rout the West Indies for 134.

The West Indies were sitting pretty at 59-0 after being inserted. They crumbled losing all 10 wickets for 75 runs in the face of Wagner's barrage of short-pitched bowling. Wagner’s performance was the third best all time figures from a Kiwi bowler in Test cricket.

The Kiwis closed on top at 85-2 after an opening stand of 65 between Raval and Latham saw off the Windies new ball attack.

New Zealand 85 for 2 (Raval 29*, Taylor 12*) trail West Indies 134 (Powell 42, Wagner 7-39, Boult 2-36) by 49 runs.
