Carey, Stoinus end Aussies losing streak: 2nd ODI (Adelaide)

Marcus Stoinis and Alex Carey combined to fire Australia to a seven-run win over South Africa ending the hosts’ record seven-match losing streak.

Chasing 232, the Proteas made a wobbly start to their run chase, losing Quinton de Kock (9) early but David Miller (51) got them back on track. In a thrilling finish, Stoinis was the key destroyer, taking 3/35 to sink the Proteas to 224/9.

Earlier, Australia scrambled to 231 all out with Alex Carey's defiant 47 and Chris Lynn's hard hitting 44 leading the way.

The 3 match ODI series is locked in at 1-1.

Australia 231 (Carey 47, Lynn 44, Rabada 4-54, Pretorius 3-32) beat South Africa 9 for 224 (Miller 51, du Plessis 47, Stoinis 3-35).
