Smuts, Klaasen steer 3-0 whitewash over Aussies : 3rd T20 (Potchefstroom)

J-J Smuts and Henrich Klaasen led the way as South Africa defeated Australia by 6 wickets to sweep the ODI series 3-0.

Marnus Labuschagne made the most of his “homecoming” with a maiden ODI century (108) but spinners Smut and Maharaj applied the brakes to keep the Aussies to 254-7.

Smuts, Kyle Verreynne and Klaasen struck half-centuries as they chased down the target with ease.

Klaasen was named Player of the Series on the back of scores of 123 not out, 51 and this unbeaten 68.

South Africa 258 for 4 (Smuts 84, Klaasen 68*) beat Australia 254 for 7 (Labuschagne 108, Nortje 2-35) by six wickets.
