Rabada, Erwee shine as SA take command: 1st Test, Day 2 (Lords)

Paceman Kagiso Rabada's 5-52 and opener Sarel Erwee's well-constructed fifty put South Africa in a commanding position.

Rabada bowled with aggression and pace, and removed innings top-scorer Ollie Pope (73) early as England were bowled out for 165 before lunch.

After a strong start by South Africa, Ben Stokes bowled England back into the game when he removed well-set opener Erwee (73) and Rassie van der Dussen (19) in quick succession.

South Africa 289 for 7 (Jansen 41*, Rabada 3*) lead England 165 (Pope 73, Rabada 5-52, Nortje 3-63) by 124 runs
