Sedgars Park, now known as JB Marks Oval, is a cricket ground in Potchefstroom, North West Province, South Africa.
The venue has been known by several names over the years, including North West Cricket Stadium and Senwes Park. It is the home ground of the North West Dragons and is one of the country’s established provincial cricket venues.
The ground has hosted international cricket across all three formats. It staged its first ODI in October 2000, when South Africa played New Zealand, and its first Test in October 2002, when South Africa faced Bangladesh. It was also one of the venues used during the 2003 Cricket World Cup, hosting three matches.
Situated in the university city of Potchefstroom, the ground is known for generally good batting conditions, although its pitch can offer assistance to seamers, particularly early in an innings. The venue has also hosted numerous domestic first-class, List A and T20 matches and remains an important cricket centre in South Africa’s North West province.
The capacity of the stadium is 10,000.
