Clive Halse (28 February 1935 – 28 May 2002) was a South African right-arm fast bowler who represented his country in the early 1960s. Born in Empangeni, Natal, he was a strongly built pace bowler known for generating lively bounce and pace on matting and turf wickets alike. Though his international career was brief, he was regarded domestically as a wholehearted and competitive quick.
Halse played three Test matches for South Africa, all against Australia during the 1963–64 series. In those appearances he claimed six wickets at an average of 43.33, with best figures of 3 for 50. A capable lower-order batsman, he scored 30 Test runs and was never dismissed, finishing with an undefined batting average.
At first-class level he appeared in 35 matches, primarily for Natal, taking 83 wickets with a best return of 5 for 49. He debuted as a teenager in the early 1950s but became a regular member of the Natal side a decade later, contributing to their Currie Cup success in the early 1960s. His career coincided with a competitive era of South African fast bowling, which limited his longer-term opportunities at Test level.
