
Born on April 19, 1966, in Box Hill, Victoria, Reiffel played 35 Tests and 92 ODIs for Australia between 1992 and 1999.
A key member of the 1999 World Cup-winning squad, he was admired for his disciplined line and length, especially in helpful seaming conditions.
Reiffel also played a pivotal role in Australia’s dominant Test team of the mid-1990s, forming part of a strong pace attack alongside Glenn McGrath and Jason Gillespie.
After retiring from playing, he transitioned to umpiring. Commencing in 2009, he has stood in numerous international matches, earning respect for his composed and accurate decision-making.
