Arafat Minhas is first Pakistani to take 5 wickets on ODI debut (Rawalpindi)

Arafat Minhas is a highly regarded Pakistani all-rounder who emerged through the country’s youth cricket system.

Born in Multan on 2 January 2005, he is a left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox spinner. He first came to national prominence after an outstanding National Under-19 Championship campaign, where his performances with both bat and ball earned him widespread recognition as one of Pakistan’s brightest young talents.

Minhas further enhanced his reputation by captaining the Gwadar Sharks in the Pakistan Junior League and representing franchises in the Pakistan Super League. His ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game—containing runs with his spin, scoring useful runs in the middle order, and fielding athletically—has made him a valuable asset in white-ball cricket.

Minhas made his international debut for Pakistan national cricket team at the 2023 Asian Games and has since remained firmly on the selectors’ radar. He made his ODI debut against Australia in May 2025. He was named match of the match after taking 5 wickets on debut.
