Ellis helps Australia knock over Pakistan: 2nd ODI (Lahore)

Paceman Nathan Ellis took a career best four-wicket haul as Australia pipped Pakistan by 41 runs in Lahore, levelling the three-match series 1-1.

Batting first, Australia posted 231/9 from their 50 overs, led by half-centuries from Cameron Green (53) and Josh Inglis (51). Pakistan’s bowlers kept the visitors in check, with Shaheen Shah Afridi taking three wickets, but Australia recovered well from early setbacks to build a competitive total.

In reply, Pakistan’s batting struggled against accurate Australian seam bowling and slipped to 88/6 before a spirited counterattack from Shadab Khan, who scored 71. However, the lack of support from the top order proved costly as Pakistan were dismissed for 190 in 44 overs.

Nathan Ellis was named Player of the Match after claiming career-best figures of 4/33, helping Australia secure victory and set up a series-deciding third ODI in Lahore.

Australia 231/9 (50 overs)

* Cameron Green 53 * Josh Inglis 51 * Shaheen Shah Afridi 3 wickets

Pakistan 190 all out (44 overs)

* Shadab Khan 71 * Nathan Ellis 4/33

Result: Australia won by 41 runs and leveled the ODI series 1–1.
