
Richard Trevor Barber (3 June 1925 – 7 August 2015) was was born in Ōtaki, on the Kāpiti Coast north of Wellington
His family had a dairy farm. He attended Wellington College as a boarder. A middle-order batsman, Barber played for Wellington from 1945–46 to 1958–59, and for Central Districts in 1959–60
He played in one Test match against the West Indies at Wellington in 1956. He played first-class cricket in New Zealand from 1945 to 1960.
Barber passed away on 7 August 2015 at Diana Isaac Retirement Village in Christchurch, aged 90. He was the oldest NZ cricketer at the time of his death.
