Atkinson, Bethell shine as England dominate NZ: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Wellington)

Rookie Jacob Bethell struck 96 after Gus Atkinson's hat-trick as England took a stranglehold on the second Test against New Zealand on day 2.

Atkinson took the 15th England hat-trick in Test history to bowl New Zealand out for 125 - their final five wickets falling for 39 run.

Bethell top-scored with career-best 96 in first-class cricket but was denied a maiden ton as the tourists ended the day on 378-5.

England 280 and 378 for 5 (Bethell 96, Duckett 92, Root 73*, Stokes 35*) lead New Zealand 125 (Atkinson 4-31, Carse 4-46) by 533 runs.
