Shanto powers Bangladesh to series win over NZ: 3rd ODI (Chattogram)

Bangladesh clinched the three-match ODI series 2–1 with a convincing 55-run victory over New Zealand in the third ODI at Chattogram.

After New Zealand won the toss and elected to field, Bangladesh recovered from an early collapse thanks to a superb 105 off 119 balls from Najmul Hossain Shanto and a composed 76 off 91 balls from Litton Das. Their 160-run partnership laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s total of 265/8 in 50 overs, with Towhid Hridoy contributing an unbeaten 33.

New Zealand’s chase was led by Dean Foxcroft, who scored 75 off 72 balls, while Nick Kelly added 59. However, Mustafizur Rahman’s outstanding 5/43 proved decisive, with Nahid Rana (2/37) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (2/36) providing valuable support as New Zealand were bowled out for 210 in 44.5 overs.

Shanto was named Player of the Match for his match-winning century, while Nahid Rana earned Player of the Series honours as Bangladesh celebrated a memorable series triumph.

Bangladesh 265 for 8 (Shanto 105, Litton 76, O'Rourke 3-32) beat New Zealand 210 (Foxcroft 75, Kelly 59, Mustafizur 5-43) by 55 runs
