Controversial collision: Strauss recalls Mathews

Angelo Mathews had set off for an intended two runs only to collide with the bowler Graham Onions and was run out by yards. Mathews was visibly unimpressed with the decision and gesticulated as such as he left the crease but it wasnt until he was in the pavilion tunnel that in a moment of good sportsmanship skipper Andrew Strauss called him back to resume his innings.

Strauss was perhaps influenced by the controversy in the nonrecall of Grant Elliot by Collingwood in similar circumstances in 2008. It all ended well as Mathews was out shortly afterwards he left the square thanking Strauss.
