Mahela hits rapid ton, breaks SL record: 2011 World Cup #3 (Hambantota)

Mahela Jayawardena set a new Sri Lankan record and also scored the 4th fastest century in a World Cup match with an 80 ball 100.

Kumar Sangakkara (92) missed out a well deserved ton as the home team piled up 332 against Canada. Mahela's ton was also the fastest by a Sri Lankan in a World Cup match, overtaking Sanath Jayasuriya.

Sri Lanka's bowlers snared three early wickets to reduce Canada to a rather grim 12 for three after five overs, in pursuit of an unlikely 333 victory target. They were bowled out for 122 handing SL a massive 210 run win.
