Dilshan scripts thrilling Super Over win after tie: ICC T20 WC S8 SRL v NZL (Pallekele)
Tillakaratne Dilshan cracked 76 off 53 balls but it was Lasith Malinga's tight bowling that scripted Sri Lanka's thrilling Super Over victory.
Earlier, New Zealand got a strong start from openers Rob Nicol (58) and Martin Guptill (38) to post 174 for seven wickets.
Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene (44) added 80 runs in about seven overs as Sri Lanka finished tied on 174 for six and forcing the Super Over. With New Zealand needing 14 from their one over to win, Sri Lanka pace bowler Lasith Malinga conceded only eight.
