Umpire blunder saves Voges as Hazlewood shines: 1st Test, day 1 (Wellington)

In the last over, Adam Voges was bowled by Bracewell but a no-ball was called by Umpire Richard Illingworth. This turned out to be a howler as Bracewall's heel was well behind the line.

Earlier, the Kiwi's were sent in and dismissed for 183 in 48 overs as Josh Hazlewood took 4-42. Australia posted 147-3 at the close thanks to a 126 run stand between Smith (71) and Khawaja (57 not out).

Australia 147 for 3 (Smith 71, Khawaja 57*, Southee 2-22) trail New Zealand 183 (Craig 41*, Hazlewood 4-42, Siddle 3-37) by 36 runs.
