England dominate SL after Jennings ton: 1st Test, Day 3 (Galle)

Opener Keaton Jennings scored a brilliant 146 not out to end a two-year drought for a Test century as England gained control of the first Test against Sri Lanka.

Jennings century enabled England to declare late in the day on 322-6. Allrounder Ben Stokes added a quickfire 62 as Sri Lanka wilted in the heat.

Chasing a world score a record 462 to win, Sri Lanka survived 20 minutes to close on 15-0.

Sri Lanka 203 and 15 for 0 (Silva 8*, Karunaratne 7*) need a further 447 to beat England 342 and 322 for 6 dec (Jennings 146*, Stokes 62).
