Shami hat-trick seals tense win over Afghanistan: 2019 WC #28 (Southampton)

Paceman Mohammed Shami's last over hat-trick avoided a major upset by Afghanistan in a thrilling finish.

Nabi struck a boundary off the first ball of the final over to move to his fifty and within 12 runs of victory. Shami had Nabi caught before demolishing the stumps of numbers 10 and 11 with searing yorkers.

Earlier, on a slow pitch, India posted 224-8, with Virat Kohli top-scoring with 67. Kedar Jadhav smashed 52 as spinner Nabi took a tidy 2-33.

India 224 for 8 (Kohli 67, Jadhav 52, Nabi 2-33) beat Afghanistan 213 (Nabi 52, Shami 4-40) by 11 runs.
