Usman Khawaja hit a fine century to steer Australia into a massive lead over Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Mitch Starc took 5-54 to destroy Sri Lanka for just 215 in their first innings.

Chasing a record 516 to win, Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne were both unbeaten on eight before bad light stopped play.
