Azhar defies England as Anderson bags five: 3rd Test, Day 3 (Southampton)

Skipper Azhar Ali led from the front with a brilliant undefeated century but England still enforced the follow-on as James Anderson was left frustratingly short of becoming the first paceman to take 600 Test wickets when bad light ended play early.

Anderson took five wickets but Azhar Ali (141 not out) and Mohammad Rizwan (53) stitched together a 138-run partnership for the sixth wicket which helped Pakistan to 273 all out.

Pakistan 273 (Azhar 141, Rizwan 53, Anderson 5-56) trail England 583 for 8 declared by 310 runs.
