SL stun India with tie after Hasaranga, Asalanka heroics: 1st ODI (RPS)

Skipper Rohit Sharma smashed a quick-fire half-century in the opening One Day International (ODI) but Sri Lanka’s bowlers fought back to pull off a thrilling tie.

India were sitting strong at 75/0 and 131/3 while chasing 231. However, the SL spinners displayed their prowess as India were bowled out for 230. Skipper Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed three wickets apiece.

Earlier, Sri Lanka, opting to bat first, were bolstered by Nissanka's 56 and Wellalage's 67 not out at the death.

Sri Lanka 230 for 8 (Wellalage 67*, Nissanka 56, Axar 2-33, Arshdeep 2-47) tied with India 230 (Rohit 58, Axar 33, Asalanka 3-30, Hasaranga 3-58).
