Justice Mudgal match fixing verdict: Implications for Srinivasan, CSK

The Indian Supreme Court panel headed by Justice Mudgal says the son-in-law of the newly-elected world cricket chairman is guilty of illegal betting on games.

The panel stated N. Srinivasan's son-in-law, Gurunath Meiyappan, is guilty of passing on information to outsiders for betting purposes.

While holding Meiyappan guilty of bringing disrepute to the game and CSK responsible for failing to check his actions, the panel brought to the notice of the court a possible conflict of interest, with Srinivasan being the BCCI president as well as the CEO of India Cements.

The findings also sheds light on the sham panel enacted hurriedly by the BCCI that had earlier found no wrong doing by either Gurunath nor his team - Chennai Super Kings.
