1st Test Analysis: How did India lose after scoring 5 centuries?

Ben Duckett's imperious 149 and his 188-run opening partnership with Zak Crawley (65) knocked the stuffing out of India for a famous win at Leeds.

England chased down 371 with relative ease on Day 5 after Indian shoulders slumped early in the day. This chase by England is their second-highest in Tests, bettered only by the 378 they managed against India at Edgbaston in 2022.

India are the first side to lose a Test (and first class match) after scoring five centuries across both innings. One too many dropped catches and two major batting collapses ultimately cost India this 1st Test.

June 2025.
