Renshaw inspires narrow Australian win over Bangladesh: 2nd T20 (Chattogram)

Matt Renshaw was the star as Australia clinched the T20I series with a tense seven-run victory over Bangladesh in the second match at Chattogram.

After being asked to bat first, the visitors posted a formidable 196/5, built around a superb innings of 89 from 52 balls by Matt Renshaw. Tim David added crucial late momentum with a quickfire 45 from 26 deliveries, helping Australia finish strongly despite a disciplined spell from Nasum Ahmed, who returned figures of 2/27.

Bangladesh mounted a spirited chase and stayed in the contest for most of the innings through valuable contributions from Saif Hassan (42) and Parvez Hossain Emon (36). However, Australia’s bowlers held their nerve under pressure, with Aaron Hardie producing key breakthroughs as the hosts finished on 189/6 from their 20 overs.

The seven-run victory gave Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and secured the T20I trophy with a game to spare.

Australia 197 for 5 (Renshaw 89*, David 45) beat Bangladesh 189 for 6 (Saif 42) by seven runs.
