Taijul strikes back after SA routs Bangladesh for 106: 1st Test, Day 1 (Mirpur)

16 wickets fell as South Africa bowled out Bangladesh cheaply and then lost 6 wickets themselves to end just 34 runs ahead on day 1.

Kagiso Rabada, Wiaan Mulder, and Keshav Maharaj all took three-wickets each to restrict Bangladesh to 106. Rabada became the fastest to 300 wickets wickets during the course of his 3-26.

Spinner Taijul Islam claimed a five-wicket haul and became the second ever Bangladeshi to take 200 Test wickets but could not stop South Africa from surpassing Bangladesh's paltry first innings score 106.

South Africa 140 for 6 (de Zorzi 30, Rickelton 27, Taijul 5-49) lead Bangladesh 106 (Mahmudul 30, Mulder 3-22, Rabada 3-26, Maharaj 3-34) by 34 runs
