Ball tampering scandal: Smith, Warner, Lehmann face lengthy bans

Australian captain Steve Smith, opener David Warner and coach Darren Lehmann could be facing lifetime bans following the ball tampering scandal that overshadowed the third Test against South Africa.

Former Aussie paceman Jason Gillespie savaged the Australian cricket team, saying Smith and Warner are gone as its leaders.

Michael Vaughan questioned the Australians on their ethics during the recent Ashes series after Cameron Bancroft was seen putting sugar in his pocket before taking the field.

Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland has arrived in South Africa and his verdict will end days of speculation over the fates of the masterminds behind the plot to cheat.
