Malan, Shamsi star in win over SL: 2nd ODI (RPS)

Janneman Malan has struck a fluent 121 to help South Africa defeat Sri Lanka in the second ODI and level the series.

Malan was involved in a 96-run third-wicket partnership with Reeza Hendricks. Hendricks struckm51 off 54 balls. Heinrich Klaasen produced a vital knock of 43 off 27 balls.

Chasing a rain revised target, Asalanka scored a resilient half-century as he and captain Dasun Shanaka steadied the Sri Lankan scorecard. But rain interrupted their momentum. Left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the chief destroyer for the visitors, taking 5-49.

South Africa 283 for 6 (Malan 121, Karunaratne 2-24) beat Sri Lanka 197 (Asalanka 77, Shamsi 5-49) by 67 runs (DLS method).
